MONTICELLO — A 5-year-old child riding a wakeboard suffered a severe cut to the face when the board flipped out of the water and struck the child, according to Indiana Conservation officers.

The child was wakeboard about 11:30 a.m. Monday on Lake Freeman when the accident happened.

Monticello medics rushed the child to White County IU Health Hospital for treatment, according to the conservation officers. 

The child then was flown to Riley’s Hospital for Children for treatment, according to the news release.

There is no report about the child’s condition.
