First look inside amazing new water park just a 45-minute drive from Stoke-on-Trent – Stoke-on-Trent Live

A new watersports park with an inflatable obstacle course and zip wire has opened just a 45-minute drive from Stoke-on-Trent.

Wildshore Delamere – described as an adrenaline-charged water-based adventure hub – has launched on the outskirts of Delamere Forest near Northwich.

Families can try a range of outdoor activities including an aqua park, zip wire-base wakeboarding, tubing, stand-up paddleboarding and open water swimming.

The £100,000 investment is part of the five-star Delamere Lake Sailing and Holiday Park which has already had planning consent for 143 lakeside holiday lodges and a sailing clubhouse at the former Fourways Quarry site near Oakmere.

Set on the edge of a horseshoe-shaped lake, Wildshore has a sandy beach where participants can eat a picnic or build a sandcastle, and also a cosy indoor centre with changing areas and showers, as well as equipment including paddleboards, wetsuits and wakeboards which are all included within the price.

The new venture is creating 15 jobs.

CK Koester, former European Wakeboarding Champion and one of the new wakeboard trainers at Wildshore Delamere, said: “As a former pro-wakeboarder, I’m impressed with the facilities at Wildshore. Rather than learn to wakeboard at the end of a boat, Wildshore wakeboarding is carried out via a zip wire, which is easier for beginners, but also more flexible for those who are looking to improve their jumps and tricks.”

The new facility is aimed at anyone aged six and over.

There is also a day camp for 8 to 14-year-olds on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday every week during the summer holidays.

Managing director Tim Woodhead, who has a further £400,000 investment planned for winter, said: “Following the success of our water park in Liverpool Docks, we’ve been looking for the perfect location in Cheshire and the launch of Wildshore Delamere has been the culmination of several years searching.

“We wanted to invest in the local area and create jobs as well as a great watersports and aqua park that appeals to everyone who wants to have fun in the water. Whether you want to learn to paddleboard or wakeboard or want to bounce around on a tube or inflatable obstacle course, there’s something for everyone.”
