Castleblayney Outdoor Adventure: AMAZING activities you can EXPERIENCE – Ireland Before You Die

Located just off Muckno Lake at the edge of Castleblayney is Castleblayney Outdoor Adventure Centre.

The Centre’s location and surroundings offer many water sports and outdoor activities.

Under the direction of skilled and qualified instructors, the Adventure Centre provides many guided activities for all ages.

We visited this adventure centre on our latest trip to the drumlin county and loved our time there. From assisted tree climbing to windsurfing, we’ve highlighted some of the activities you can experience here.

The first activity we experienced on our visit was rope-assisted tree-climbing. Here we climbed an extremely tall tree with the assistance of grips and ropes.

It was an exhilarating experience. The view from the highest part of the climb was incredible.

We must admit, we felt a bit nervous about the climb when we saw how high the tree was from the bottom. Indeed, it wasn’t an activity we were looking forward to.

However, we quickly felt safe with the assistance and encouragement from Mark, who was our guide for the day.

Castleblayney Outdoor Adventure offers paddleboarding on the picturesque Lake Muckno.

After climbing the big tree, we had a crack at paddleboarding on the beautiful Muckno Lake.

This was a great activity for us because it was the first time we paddle boarded.

In addition, it was also one of the only times in Ireland we have done something where there were no other tourists around. It was just the two of us out on a lake. Perfect.

This adventure centre offers several water sports and outdoor activities, including sailing, windsurfing, and kayaking/canoeing. We did not take part in any more activities on our visit, but we will have to go back to do the rest.

Suppose you are in Monahan with your family or friends. In that case, we recommend getting in touch with the centre to discuss doing an activity some afternoon. It is an amazing thing to do!

I can’t speak highly enough about this place or our instructor Mark who runs the adventure centre. It is a place anyone can go, regardless of age or interest and can have a good time.

If you are unsure of what activity would suit you, you can get in touch with the Centre beforehand and plan your visit. All the info can be found below.
