Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late great Steve, announced her engagement today, after long-term boyfriend Chandler Powell proposed on her 21st birthday.

The wildlife warrior and daughter of The Crocodile Hunter took to social media to share the cute AF snaps of the pair as she showed off her sparkling new ring.

Wasting no time in letting the world know she was getting married to her boyfriend of six years, the Australian media personality posted a heartwarming tribute to her beau.

We have to say, the two of them look smitten.

‘July 24th 2019. On my birthday I said “yes” and “forever” to the love of my life,’ she said.

‘Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you and every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure and true happiness.

‘I’m so looking forwarding to spending our forever together as your wife. Here’s to a lifetime of friendship, purpose and unconditional love.’

In the two shots she shared, Bindi and wakeboarder Chandler cosied up for the camera, as Bindi showed off the rock.

One shot saw her hold her left hand up to her face so we could get a good look at the band, with Chandler smiling with his eyes closed.

The second photo sees the two embracing with massive smiles, Bindi lifting up a leg in that ‘Princess Diaries’ foot pop way.

That’s love.

Chandler, 22, also shared the happy news to his Instagram, with a similar message to his fresh fiancée.

‘She said YES! Almost 6 years ago we met at Australia Zoo. I immediately fell head over heels for her kind and thoughtful heart that radiates so much light,’ he wrote alongside more sweet shots.

‘Proposing in her very favourite place in the zoo, surrounded by animals, seemed like the perfect way to embark on this incredible new chapter in our lives. Bee, I love you more than anything in this world and I always will. Happy Birthday.’

She met American pro wakeboarder Chandler in 2013 when his family was given a tour of Australia Zoo, where he now works alongside the Irwins.

Over the weekend in an interview with Stellar magazine she referred to her fiance, then her boyfriend, as her ‘always’.

‘He’s so kind and solid and always there for me. I think it’s really rare to find that so early in life,’ she told the magazine. ‘My mum and dad always described their marriage as feeling like a special pair of old shoes – knowing you can always depend on someone.

‘I know it’s the same with Chandler. At the end of the day, when I’m exhausted, he will be there even if I don’t have make-up on or my hair is crazy and I’ve been wearing the same shirt for three days.’

Bindi is the daughter of Steve and Terri Irwin, with Terri taking to Twitter in sharing her congratulations, knowing the late Steve – who died in 2006 – would be so proud.

‘Best day ever! Chandler asked and beautiful @BindiIrwin said yes,’ she wrote alongside a shot of the family with son Robert.

‘I am so very happy, and I know Steve would be too. Congratulations!!’

Bindi’s brother too joined in on the fun, posting an engagement ring emoji and a sweet message for sis.

‘I am beyond happy for you two,’  he wrote, posting two photos. ‘You are true soulmates and have always been so completely perfect for each other. Love you both and congratulations.’

Bindi and her brother have carried on her father’s legacy, after he was killed by a stingray when she was only eight-years-old.

After appearing on her dad’s popular show The Crocodile Hunter she went on to become a keen conservationist and appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Late Show With David Letterman.
