Former MLB All-Star and Saint Louis alum Brandon League holds Hawaii close to his heart with clothing line

Following a successful 11-year MLB career in which he was named an All-Star closer in 2011, Brandon League has moved on to the next endeavor in his life.

League joined the pro ranks after getting selected in the second round of the MLB Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays following his senior year at Saint Louis in 2001. Although he hasn’t appeared in the major leagues since 2014, he continued to play professional baseball until 2017.

Prior to Thursday’s positive COVID-19 test, ‘Iolani was given approval by ILH to hold workouts

Following Thursday’s announcement that a part-time football coach at ‘Iolani tested positive for COVID-19, questions were raised as to whether the Raiders were permitted to practice in the first place following the HHSAA’s extended suspension of practices on June 17.

In a statement ‘Iolani provided to KHON2 on Friday, the school said that “‘Iolani School, along with the other schools in the ILH, received approval for practices from the ILH. HHSAA has no jurisdiction over ILH programs during the summer “yellow” period when school is not in session.”

Hawaii football adds dynamic wide receiver from Rice in Aaron Cephus

As the newest member of the University of Hawaii football team, wide receiver Aaron Cephus joins the Rainbow Warriors as a graduate transfer from Rice.

Cephus did not play in the 2019 season due to an indefinite suspension that stemmed from an unspecified violation of team rules during his freshman season. During his suspension, he used that time to work on himself and earned a degree from one of the nation’s top academic schools.
