    CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Dogs took to the waves this weekend in Carolina Beach, raising money for a good cause.

    The Surf Dog Experience allowed dogs to surf at the Carolina Beach Pier on Saturday.

    Dogs were wearing life jackets and lifeguards were in the water with the pups.

    A raffle at the event raised $1,158 for ocean rescue.

    This was the second year the event took place on the island.
