San Clemente’s Jeremiah Klein has been happily documenting waves, surfing and the surrounding lifestyle for almost two decades now. He came on at Surfline as our full-time staff photographer in 2008 and his artistic, visceral images capture both the peak moment and the meaningful moments in between — in the ocean, on the beach and on the road. He is a visual storyteller, especially important for a sport like surfing.
Miah, as he’s affectionally known, has also been working with the good folks over at Vissla for the past several years, and has been on hand to document and celebrate some amazing surf trips to far-flung places around the globe — and down the street. Recently, Vissla decided to create a Miah Collection of sustainable t-shirts with some of his favorite images. “It’s amazing to see Vissla celebrate surf photography and gave me a platform to showcase my art,” Miah says.

“The hardest part of this project was narrowing down my favorite images,” he continues. “Initially, I sent them 44 and they selected four to print. I converted them to black and white and they did all the design. It was a great team effort, since they know how to make excellent clothes and I know a thing or two about capturing surf moments. The overall vibe of the tees has a timeless feel, which I think people will appreciate — and these special images have more flavor than your typical surfy/surfy wearable.”

From tropical landscapes to otherworldly lineups to high action, Miah’s talent behind the lens has always inspired us and made our jobs easy — for both Vissla and Surfline. “He’s been on scene to capture every iconic surf trip and all the raw, on-the-fly adventures our team throws at him,” says Vissla’s Corey Brindley, and we couldn’t agree more. Which is why we’re all excited to celebrate the launch of this collection with a giveaway.
