Wakepark set to ride a new wave – Daily Mercury

MACKAY’S wakepark has a new lease on life after a drastic two-month renovation.

With new management and a new name, Wake House Australia, the Andergrove facility has some of the best wakeboarding facilities in the country.

Kirk and Chrissy Langford announced they were wrapping up five years in June.

Amanda Pelagalli and Daniel Probert took over in July.

Ms Pelagalli said they were keen to put Mackay on the cable wakeboarding map.

As part of the renovation, two “state-of-the-art” obstacles from Austria and a new 22m wakeboarding obstacle were installed at the park.

The venue’s cafe and bar menus have also been updated.

Local rider Shane King had the honours of carving up the first lap of the restored park and pro rider Sam de Haan flew in from the Netherlands for the launch.
