This awesome tourist attraction in East Lothian has been shortlisted for a prestigious tourism award – Edinburgh Live

An adventure park located in Dunbar has been shortlisted for a prestigious Scottish Thistle Award for best outdoor experience.

Established in 2012, Foxlake Adventures is nestled in the heart of woodland in Dunbar just on the edge of the John Muir Way. It has something for every outdoor adventurer, with wakeboarding and a zipline just a couple of the activities that are on offer at the park.

Wakeboarding – a sport where you’re pulled behind a boat on a short board so you can do tricks by skipping over the waves created by the vessel – is immensely popular at the park. Foxlake is also home to the UK’s only rope course constructed over water.

Whether you want to conquer wakeboarding or simply just explore the woodland trails, Foxlake caters to all, even providing drinks and snacks at their lakeside award -winning Boardside cafe.

The Scottish Thistle Awards are highly prestigious, honouring individuals businesses and events for their excellence and success in the tourism sector.

The awards are organised by Visit Scotland and supported by a panel of industry representatives. They are based on 5 regional programmes with the winners of each of these regions progressing to the national final.

The park is open from March to the end of November for their wet activities with their dry activities being accessible all year round. Their activities are reasonably priced with the zip line costing £26.00 for an adult and £22.00 for a child.

A beginner lesson for the wakeboarding is a tad more expensive with adults being priced at £46.00 and children at £34 with all of the kit included.

The awards will be taking place on November 28 at Oran Mor in Glasgow and is set to be an exciting night for Scotland’s first waterpark.
